Bangladesh Services Limited (BSL) is a Public Limited Company which came into operation in the year 1973. The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh owns 99.68% of its capital. The Board of Directors of the company consists of eleven members who are nominated by the Government. The Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism is the Chairman of the Board. The Company has been engaged in the hospitality business since its inception and has pioneered international standard five star hotel business in Bangladesh more than 30 years back.

At present, BSL is doing the Hotel business in the name of Ruposhi Bangla Hotel and runs VIP Lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka (which is being used by the leading airlines as their business and first class passenger lounge). Earlier, BSL did the hotel business with Sheraton Overseas Management Corporation, later Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels and Resorts Pte. Ltd.from 1984 to April 2011 under a two(2) management agreement. Prior to that, BSL did hotel business with another world renowned hotel management company, Inter-Continental Hotels Corporation for 10 years from 1973 to 1983.

Recently, on 19 February 2012, BSl has signed a Management Agreement with Inter Continental Hotels Group (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. for a 30 years term for Management and Operation of its Hotel.


BSL is doing commendable business by providing its valued guests with high-quality facilities and services. In addition, international conferences, seminars, exhibitions and a large number of high level State functions are held in this hotel every year. In the recent past, 13th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit was held in Ruposhi Bangla Hotel. All the six visiting Heads of the States and the Governments of the SAARC countries were accommodated in this hotel.

The Company also owns a first-class office complex with an area of 75,968 sft. located adjacent to the Hotel. The office complex accommodates renowned national and international organizations like UNICEF, Sumitomo Corporation, Standard Chartered Bank, Thai Airways, Air India etc.
